I have seen some posts that after different installs the users mouse
and keyboard quit working. Here is a solution that I have used on XP
and 2K.
1) From a working system with the same OS; Copy kblock.sys &
mouslock.sys from C:\WINNT\system32\drivers to a floppy drive
2) Boot non-working system into Recovery Console
3) Copy both files from floppy into C:\WINNT\system32\drivers
4) Reboot
If this doesn't work, make sure the services are started in RC.
1) Log into RC
2) Check to see if the services are running with: listsvc
3) If the two services are not system or auto then you need to change
them
4) Write down the information regarding the services just in case you
have to change it back
4) Type: enable kblock service_system_start (do the same for mouslock
if needed)
5) Reboot
