I have windows XP and it was working great until yesterday. My friend did
installed some games and may have also played around with some settings I am
not sure what but its possible that some setting may have been changed and
then shut off my computer. Anyways now that when I restart my computer it
come back and says that there was a error with my keyboard. So I changed the
settings in the BIOS to not report any keyboard error so the computer boots
just fine but my keyboard or the mouse does not work.

I have tried to boot it in safe mode but I have been unable to. How do I fix
this problem? Any suggestions? I really do not want to format and reinstall
XP.

Thanks

It sounds like your friend may have installed something that may have
stepped on some drivers. If you have system restore turned on, you can check
by right click on My Computer->Properties->System Restore Tab->Make sure
Turn off System Restore is UNchecked. If it is
then....Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore ->Select
Restore my computer to an earlier time (default) -> Next -> Pick a date
prior to the date you friend....did something...-> Next -> Read very
carefully and decide if you want to follow this course of action.

Thanks Kyle for your response.
But right now I am unable to access anything. I am unable to click on "My
Computer" because neither my keyboard nor my mouse works after booting. Any
other ideas?
