key & value was missing from registry

Hi Expert,
My registry(w2k server) had been updated without any notice and a key with
some values were deleted but I am not able to track the root causing. Anyone
can help me on how to find the root cause or is there a way to track this
problem? Thanks for your help........
 
We're clueless without details of "updated without any notice" and no
knowledge of what keys/values were deleted but more than likely
virus/malware related.

For starters, you can check your eventlog.
