ICQ already has that option last time I used it. I don't think AIM does and
I don't know about MSN or Yay-hoo. I feel for ya but you need to trust your
own kids and if ya can't they don't need to be around a computer. Shit is
gonna hit them in the eye and brain thru the net no matter how paranoid and
watchful you get.

Yet, you let them into your house? Instead of spying on them, ban them.

Simple (and free).

What if he is only 'letting them in' via instant messenger already? I
agree that software is no babysitter, but every little bit helps :) and
we all know you cant be there all the time.

^^^^^^Latchkey kid ;)

Being a parent is a 24/7 job which involves understanding and using
technology to protect my children - NOT spy on them!
I do trust my children but the internet exposes then to much more than just
everyday stuff.
I ask who they are talking with on IM - what they are talking about - and I
limit there time on IM.
I have there computer in the dining room which allows for supervision.
Here's one for ya - we have never owned a video game/player in our house!
They can get enough of this from there friends house.
Way to many kids these days are NOT supervised on the internet and that
leads to trouble!
Most parents these days are not versed in technology that there children
use.
I am very aware that I can't keep them from all types of trouble. Just keep
it to a minimum.
Thanks for your interesting comments,

Fair enough. I hadn't considered that. }:O\

I had been spied on, once, as a kid. I remember how it felt. It was
revolting to me.

But, desperate times call for desperate measures, I suppose, so long as
they are used wisely.
