Kernel Data Inpage Error

I am getting this error and BSD on log-in after I install
SP4 for W2K.
I have swapped out eveything including the mobo and have
reinstalled 3 times with the same result.
The only thing I haven't swapped yet is the CPU.

1400 T-BIRD, MSI KT7 Turbo, 512 MB Crucial memory.

Not alot of info out there on this error.
 
it took two spare hard drives to pin it down, but indeed
the problem was the hard drive. Disk checking utilities
did NOT find any problems with either drives giving this
error.
