Kernal Mode Trap "Stop" Message during Installation

I am trying to install windows 2000 on an old computer
with a 166MHz proc and 32 megs of memory :) I tried a
clean install and an upgrade from Wind98SE. Either way,
after setup loads the files and after the screen when it
says "setup is starting windows 2000", I get a "Stop"
error message saying "UnExpected_Kernal_Mode_Trap." Then
it tells me to restart if this is the first time I've seen
it or to check for viruses and scan my drive. Either way,
upon restarting the setup, I still get the error screen.
Does anyone know of a way to fix this?

I don't believe W2K will run on that machine.
