Following recent threads on here, I installed this last night.
Problem is, now my ftp client (FileZilla) and ftp server (Cesar) do not
work properly. FileZilla won't LIST files on the server, and Cesar is
unreachable by a friend.
I'm using XP Home.
Both programs have 3 green ticks, but aside from that, I'm a bit lost.
Can anyone give me any pointers ?
Thanks

You're checking through Admin/Advanced? Sounds like you disallowed
something that shouldn't be. Look through the ones that have the red X and
see if they make sense to you. If you're not sure, try allowing it
(highlight, click Edit, then Permit on the lower left) and see what happens.

That's what is odd .. I have no red X's. Not a single one....
I've not disallowed anything.

Strange........I hope there's somewhere in the ng who knows more about Kerio
than I do! What does the log say?

To be honest I've not looked since posting my first reply - I've quite a
bit to do tonight, so I've put the previous firewall back in for now.
I'll try again tomorrow (or when this work is done) and check each step
... not that I think I did anything wrong, but you never know :)

Thanks anyway !

And did you tell Kerio to allow these? If you open the firewall log, I'll
bet you see dozens of block notices for both programs.

Open up "Advanced" and see if there are any rules at all for either
program. If so, selct "edit" and see just exactly what the rules allow.

It sounds like Kerio may be blocking inbound traffic. Usually "outbound" is
suficient, but not always.

Simply select "both directions" and it should work.

FTP Clients have to be set to passive mode.

FTP Servers need to be accessible on port 21 IIRC.
