Kensington Optical Mouse on Toshiba Satellite

I installed a Kensington optical mouse on my Toshiba Satellite laptop. I
had no problems with it. It works great. I turned off the touchpad and
when I later tried to turn it back on the system indicates that it is on
but it does nothing. How to I get my touchpad back? Yes, I have
restarted and have tried to uninstall and reinstall. No effect.

I reinstalled Alps touchpad driver and both seem to work now.
