Keeping window opened

Is there a way I can "lock" MS Word to stay on top of my other applications? I'm trying to compare two documents in two completely seperate pieces of software (MS Word and zMUD settings), but everytime I click on the non-MS Word application to make changes, the MS Word window minimizes. It's frustrating and time consuming to keep clicking it back open and finding my place again. Please help.

Are you sure the Word window minimizes, are just goes behind the other
windows? That's what should happen.

In any case, the best way to handle this is to close or minimize all
your open windows other than the two applications you want to work with,
then right-click on an empty space in the task bar and click either Tile
Windows Horizontally or Tile Windows Vertically. The two windows will
then line up next to each other filling the whole Desktop. You can then
move back and forth between them using Alt+Tab. When one window is
activated, the other will be de-activated, but it will remain visible.

When you're done, right click on the Taskbar again and click Undo Tile.

One workaround might be to resize each window so that they each take up half of the screen and don't
overlap on each other at all.

I just downloaded this utility, puts several extra buttons on a window titlebar,
next to the min/max/close buttons. One of them is an "always on top" button.

(I did have to make an easy registry change because the buttons overlapped my
minimize button)
