Problem(s) Not too good at Access but luv it, Getting old, must I go
on? ......
I learn lots of very helpful things from this group and apply them
where I can. There are so many aspects to this programming! Does
anyone have a recommended way to store and ultimately find all the wee
pieces of code (and alternate code) that is discussed within this
group (especially if you/me personally has been able to utilize it
within your/my sphere of expertise)
For crying out loud! ... Please don't tell me that you use an Access
database??

Comments please

I keep mine in numerous Word documents using Heading Styles so that I can
have a Table Of Contents in a seperate document. This document alone
currently 48 pages long!
I'm so glad that I don't have to print them.
The stuff I've actually used myself and tried out, I format as red (some
stuff gets used hundreds of times, other stuff never) so I can instantly
find it in my Table of contents.
For finding stuff, there are numerous websites as well as the newsgroups
(invaluable). Allen Browne's site is very user-friendly and written in
English rather than Accessese.

Actually, I do use a database for comments, and previous posts and code
snips. It is very helpful.

And, Tony's even placed a copy of a *very* similar database he uses for his
comments and code snips for download. (I don't know it if is pre-populated).
It also has a button to "copy" the sample text to your clipboard (makes for
real easy fast postings in the newsgroup(s) ).

For most of my code snips, I actually go to my most recent application I
working on, and lift code that I have. I also have a directory in my
documents call access, and sub folders inside have a number of examples that
I gleaned from the internet. And, also some of my samples such as wordmerge,
unzipping software etc.

And, the grand daddy of code snips organized by report, forms etc is here:

So, for most of us, we just have a Hodge podge of ways to keep track of this
stuff, but I find the "folders" idea works rather well for me. A good number
of the examples are in fact simple text documents saved in my access folders
list...

Newsgroup Answers MDB - I designed the MDB to assist frequent
newsgroup answerers, such as MVPs, in quickly locating and pasting in
their favourite snippets of answers.
