Keeping same record from form to form

I'm using a continuous form and double clicking on the entry that I want
detailed info on. I can't get the detailed form to show the record that I
clicked. I'm using my auto-number key "Num" on both forms but my detailed
form always shows the first record in my datatable instead of my selected
choice.

Thanks.

Please post the code you're using in the doubleclick event. It needs
to somehow (using the WhereCondition or Filter arguments to OpenForm)
pass the current record's ID value - if you used the wizard to build
the code, it probably doesn't have this.

Thank you so much...it was making me crazy!

Here's the code:

Option Compare Database

Option Explicit

Private Sub cmdFilter_Click()
'Purpose: Build up the criteria string form the non-blank search
boxes, and apply to the form's Filter.
'Notes: 1. We tack " AND " on the end of each condition so you can
easily add more search boxes; _
we remove the trailing " AND " at the end.
' 2. The date range works like this: _
Both dates = only dates between (both
inclusive. _
Start date only = all dates from this one onwards; _
End date only = all dates up to (and including
this one).
Dim strWhere As String 'The criteria string.
Dim lngLen As Long 'Length of the criteria string
to append to.
Const conJetDate = "\#mm\/dd\/yyyy\#" 'The format expected for dates
in a JET query string.

'***********************************************************************
'Look at each search box, and build up the criteria string from the
non-blank ones.

'Another text field example. Use Like to find anywhere in the field.
'If Not IsNull(Me.txtYear) Then

'If Not IsNull(Me.txtInclude) Then

Private Sub open_mega()

The WhereCondition argument needs to be a valid SQL WHERE clause
without the word WHERE. You're using

Num*3465

if Me.Num contains 3456... and that's nonzero, so it will return all
records, but it's NOT a valid WHERE clause!

Try

DoCmd.OpenForm "frmSuperYachtRegister", acNormal, , "Num = " & Me.Num
