KEEPING ROW TOGETHER

Columns: Name; Address; phone; Salutation

Twice now I have wanted to sort by Name and mistakenly clicked on the column "Name" and sorted ONLY that column, which has separated that Name from the proper Address, Phone, and Salutation. I realize NOW that I am supposed to highlight the whole table before I sort. Is there a way to ALWAYS keep the row together so I don't have to worry about doing this again?

one suggestion, remove the sort icons off the toolbar and this will force
you to use data / sort - this will help you check what you've selected.

Hi Millie,

I'm sure not an expert at this, and come here often for
help, but recently I had the same problem. I solved it
by recording a macro to do the "Sort" function and then
attaching the macro to a button. One click of the button
and Excel does the "remembering" for you.....and, best of
all, it works....every time........:)
