"keep source formatting" powerpoint cut & paste

One should be able to set the default paste mode in PPT2003. The fact that I
cannot make "keep source formatting" is not only rediculous but it is
maddening. Every single time I want to pase something I've got to go through
the series of clicks to make it right. PPT _used_ to do this. 2003 does not.
I HATE IT! FIX IT!

Strongest possible message to MS: either add the capability to change the
default or delete the feature.

There is a way to "Get Past" this otherwise HORRIBLE ERROR! Be sure to set
your toolbar to include the "Office Clipboard". When you want to paste your
selected text to another chart or presentation click the "Office Clipboard"
then on the "Copied" text you want to paste - that should do it.

You are correct, MS has to fix this issue immediately. I shouldn't have to
take 2-3 extra steps just to Copy / Paste simple text.

Good Luck!

I agree it sucks, but don't count on it being fixed any time soon.

I agree completely, I'm in the frustrating position of trying to merge merge
multiple PowerPoint files into one. And unfortunately the "keep source
formatting" is not available to macros or primary interop aseemblies, so I'm
stuck trying to copy the Master slide across and finding it mostly works but
a number of PowerPoint files where it doesn't.
