how can I change that for outlook 2007. I need to have my messages in Sent
and Inbox to stay for longer than 30 days
Well, then don't delete or move them and they'll stay right there. Either
you, a rule, or an add-in is manipulating those Inbox items. Since you
never mentioned having any rules nor any software that integrates with
Outlook then it must be you that is doing "something" (which you never
stated what it is) that results in messages not staying in the Inbox folder.
Of course, knowing what TYPE of e-mail account that you have and with WHOM
might help in determining if you are using IMAP and your unidentified e-mail
provider has settings (which may be user configurable) regarding the
retention interval for those folders up on the server (which then get
reflected into the IMAP account in the client).
--- Posting Hints ---
ALWAYS REVIEW your message before submitting it. You want someone OTHER
than yourself to understand your post. Also remember that no one here is
looking over your shoulder to see at what you are pointing. If you don't
well explain your situation by providing the details that you already know,
don't expect others to know what is your situation. Explain YOUR computing
environment and just what actions you take to reproduce the problem.
Often you get just one chance per potential respondent to elicit a reply
from them. If they skip your post because you gave them nothing to go on
(no details, no versions, no OS, no context) then they will usually move on
to the next post and never return to yours.
