I can't seem to keep my internet to stay connecting. Every since I got this
Belkin, my internet has it day. Some day it'll stay connecting and other
day, I have to keep reboot the router or the computer. I was wondering if
there is more then one reading on the IP Address or what. It's getting
frustrated. I have a Window Vista. Can anyone help??
Thanks,
Lauria

Probably a router configuration problem. Check to see if your router has a
"stay connected" setting -- some routers will automatically disconnect
after an idle period.

Typr 192.168.01 into the internet explorer. Then you should get to the
router.

Perhaps you meant 192.168.1.1

Although the address is different on some routers...

I type 192.168.1.1 and the message stated "Internet Explorer cannot display
the webpage"
What does that mean??

Besides the fact that it means that IE can't display the page, it means one
- or both - of two things:

1. You need to read the manual to find the correct address for your router.
As stated, not all routers use the same IP address.

2. If you connect to the router wirelessly, then you probably need to
connect to the router by an Ethernet cable, which is a PITA, since you'll
have to tell your computer how to do that. This is a feature, BTW - it
means that your router can't be hacked wirelessly by a remote computer -
you have to be physically present to modify it.

Oh, maybe a third thing: your browser needs the http:// in front of the IP
address, as in http://192.168.1.1

the webpage"

Hi Gene
Can you help me on that?? I've tried typing in http://192.168.1.1 and still
can't get anything to come up. Can you please give some step by step in
order to get it straighten out?? I surely appreciate it. I would going to
ask you in private email..
Thanks,
Lauria

Read my points 1 and 2 again.

I can't help you find the correct IP address for your router, and I can't
set your computer up with a LAN cable to the router. I mean I literally can
NOT do those things. You have to read your router documentation, and you
have to run the cable to the router.
