When I boot up and the desktop finally comes up I keep
getting a window that says "unresolve". I can either
click "OK" or close the window but it will pop up again a
second later and keep doing so indefinitely. What is this
and how can I "resolve" this problem?
thanks much!

This seems to be the same problem i have.
This window has a "ok" title (right?) and, if you look carefully, you
can see on the left top corner of your screen a very small window of
mIRC (a tipical chat system) trying to connect to the internet.
If you're not connected to the internet you will see that window
appearing any minute, trying to resole the address provided by mIRC.
So whenever you connect to the internet, you will see the "Ok" window
appearing again.
This must be a virus. I don't know the name but it is a virus!
Check or scan with the latest antivirus software your harddisks and
floppies.
I use "Norton Antivirus" but i noticed that this kind of virus is able
to delete your Norton On-line subscription and you cannot connect to
the LiveUpdate server because of it.
So, you cannot update your machine and cannot delete this virus.
Hope Symantec.com fix it.
Have a nice journey,
