The shadow is probably on the Master Slide text box placeholder. It gets
re-applied sometimes when it is not supposed to be (see post by Nolan Haims
earlier today).
Open the aster slide
View => Master => Slide Master
Select the text box placeholder with the shadowed text (not the text, but
the text box)
Select anything inside of the text box then press the escape key once
Change the text font shadow property
Select Format => Font => uncheck the Shadow checkbox
Change the shape shadow setting
Select (on the drawing toolbar usually at the bottom of the PowerPoint
edit screen) the green box with the shadow. Select 'No Shadow'
Close the Master and save the presentation.
This should take care of the recurring shadowed text issue.
