After installing this update, I was unable to view Flash content or run
ActiveX. Even the Windows Update page would not work. I've seen numerous
posts here and on other newsgroups mentioning that KB896688 was the culprit.
After removing this update, my problem was solved.

Most posts are getting no response with regards to the fact that this update
does not appear to work correctly. Since this update is so critical, is
Microsoft planning on issuing a fix? Any information from Microsoft would be
appreciated.

I rolled back to the restore point it made when I installed it, and not only
did this not fix the problem, I can't find it to remove it now, and the
Windows Update site causes IE to hang...
