I installed KB835732 (MS04-11) and the hibernate timer
in power management no longer works.
I am running windows 2000 (SP4) on a Dell Dimension.
I find no mention of this problem or a fix for it in
Microsofts KB.

Does anyone know of a fix for this other than uninstalling
KB835732?

Is Microsoft willing to say when (if ever) they will fix the bugs
in KB835732?

Lucy?

Hi MQ,

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with this issue. The best bet would to
either:

1) Post on operating system specific newsgroups
Here's the link to all newsgroups:
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?icp=mscom

2) Create a case to help us gather the necessary information to investigate
the problem.
http://support.microsoft.com/
Select the "Contact Microsoft" link and a new web page will load. If you'd
like to submit a request for support using your phone, then click on the
"Phone Numbers, Support Options and Pricing" link for phone number
information. If you'd like to submit a support request over the Internet,
then click on the "Submit a Request for Online Help" link.

Thanks,
Lucy [MSFT]

Too bad. Seems like it has come up many times. Check out:

I would tend to think that microsoft.public.win2000.windows_update
IS an operating specific newsgroup.

When I follow you link and clicks and answer the questions, I get led to
Dell's web site. Not too useful.
