KB832483-Security Patch

I have AutoUpdate enabled on my Dell Inspirion 7500
running Win2000. For several days now, it keeps telling me
that I need to install security patch KB832483, even
though I have already installed it several times. What's
going on here?

This issue is due to a problem in the detection logic for this patch. The
patch is only meant for the following versions of MDAC.
MDAC 2.5 Service Pack 2
MDAC 2.5 Service Pack 3
MDAC 2.6 Service Pack 2
MDAC 2.7
MDAC 2.7 Service Pack 1
MDAC 2.7 Service Pack 1 Refresh
MDAC 2.8

More than likely your machine does not have one of these versions of MDAC.
If you upgrade to one of these versions the problem should go away.

the desired version.
