Is a SP2 Windows 2000 machine patched or not when you
install the MS03-026 patch. It does not show up in the add
remove programs and it does not past the HfNetChk utility.

There is reference in HfNetChk about dlls out of date.
i.e
Patch NOT Found MS03-026 823980
File C:\WINNT\system32\ole32.dll has a file
version [5.0.2195.2887]
that is less than what is expected [5.0.2195.6769].

or

Patch NOT Installed MS03-026 Q823980
File C:\WINNT\system32\rpcrt4.dll has a file
version [5.0.2195.2832]
that is less than what is expected [5.0.2195.6753].

How do you know if SP2 machines are patched when you get
these kind of reports?

TIA,

howard

I would say that the update failed. Ole32.dll should be updated, and
there should be an uninstall folder if the patch worked correctly.
