I have a Windows 2000 desktop PC that is exhibiting the
exact behaviour described in this KB article.
This machine has all updates applied (inc. SP4), and has
been checked for viruses with up-to-date virus definition
files and the stinger tool.
When a user goes into print preview in any MS Office
application and then comes back out, the document that is
currently active appears to flicker as if it is being
continually updated.
Looking at processes in Task Manager spoolsv.exe gets a
lot of CPU usage (10%+) after print preview has been used.
Stopping and re-starting the spooler service stops the
active document flicker and excessive CPU usage until
print preview is used again.
I have also obtained and applied the hot fix specified in
the KB article, but this appears to have had no affect.
Please can anyone help?
