Hello,

I am experiencing the EXACT issue described in Knowledge
Base article 327148. It only started after I ran Windows
Update to SP4. The article says to contact Microsoft
Product Support to obtain the fix, but I get shoved around
in a million directions on the MS website when I try to do
that - my Windows2000 is an OEM version from a local
manufacturer who is not listed on the site, how can I
actually contact Microsoft to get this patch?

I have copies of the event logs and they all state to
contact Microsoft about this issue as well.

You are having the same trouble as everyone else. Read
just about any of the postings on this site and you will
find your answer.

Since the article states that the fix was included with SP4 it may be
that that is now the only way to get the fix...

Or call MS and ask.
