KB 282866 Does not work..

I would like to get KB 282866 to work as that is what I had when I first
installed XP, so how can I restore it..

I now get a User Icon that I have to click on to get into XP..

If you installed the .NET Framework, this is the cause of the problem.
Click Start, Run and enter CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 Uncheck Users must enter
a username and password............ Click Apply and enter the username and
password, if any, of the account you want automatically logged on.

No I did not install that, the problem came about after I did a F8 recover to
last good boot..

Yes to the Tee, the problem came about after a F8 boot recovery, I then got a
log on screen with out a User Icon..

I managed to sort that out some how but found this KB 282866 article that I
thought might fix things but I still get a User Icon.

Plus I am not using any .NET stuff at all.

I think that this KB Article is Pree SP1 and not upto date..??
