Kazaa is one of the most horrible things to which you can
subject your computer, short of pulling out the hard drive
and beating it with a hammer. Every version of Kazaa, be it
the normal version, any version of Kazaa Lite, or any other
variation that may claim to be 'spyware-free' does, in
fact, have spyware. Just because the program itself does
not contain spyware, in the case of Kazaa Lite, does not
mean that using it will not give you spyware. The Kazaa
network itself is loaded to the brim with worms, trojans,
spyware, viruses, and all manner of malicious malware. MSAS
does detect critial elements of Kazaa as spyware... even if
it can't detect simple things like tracking cookies...
Not to promote obvious illegal P2P filesharing, but WinMX
is a much more reliable, in-depth, secure, stable,
customizable (no, I'm not talking about candy-coated
buttons), configurable, and, most of all, spyware free P2P
application.
