Although AntiSpyware reported deleting Key it still
exists!
current-user\software\kazaa

I can not remove it when logged in as administrator.
Have tried all kinds of access rights.

Any suggestions?

Part I: the Add/Remove Control Panel

1.If Kazaa is running( which it probably is) you have to QUIT out of
it before you can uninstall it. Since it's not a regular application
but rather a background process, you have to go to the Task Manager to
force it to quit:
•press Control-ALT-delete to go to the task Manager
•find Kazaa in the list, click on it to highlight it, click END
PROCESS
2. Start | Settings | Control Panel
3. double-click Add/Remove Programs
4. Find KaZaa in the list, click on it to highlight it, click Remove.
5. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 with "b3d Projector",
"Medialoads" and "New.Net" (all software installed by Kazaa that has
to be removed separately)

Removing Kazaa Part II: manually delete files/folders

Make sure all the following have been deleted- if they haven't, delete
them!
C:\Program Files\Kazaa\
* C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\KaZaA\
* C:\Windows\Desktop\Kazaa Media Desktop.lnk
* C:\Windows\Desktop\My Shared Folder.lnk
* C:\Windows\Desktop\Kazaa Promotions.lnk
*C:\\Windows/System 32\cd_clint.dll

Removing Kazaa Part III: edit the Registry(FOR ADVANCED USERS ONLY)

delete the following:
* HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Kazaa
* HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Kazaa
*
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\KaZaA
Media Desktop_is1

(Brilliant) B3D projector Removal(THIS SOFTWARE GOES WITH KAZAA BUT
MUST BE UNINSTALLED SEPARATELY)

1. Go to Start | Settings | Control Panels , double click on
"Add/Remove Programs".
2. Select "b3D Projector" and click on the button "Change/Remove".
3. Next find the folder labeled "BDE". It will probably be in the
"Windows" or "Winnt" folder. You can use the "Find" utility to search
for this folder.
4. Inside the "BDE" folder is a program called "bdeclean.exe". Double
click on this file to run it.
5. Use the "Find" utility to search for a folder called "Brilliant".
If it is found, delete this folder.
6. The final step is also the most time consuming. There are nine more
files that you will have to find and delete. They are:
bdedownloader.dll
bdedata2.dll
bdefdi.dll
bdeinsta2.dll
bdeinstall.exe
bdesecureinstall.cab
bdesecureinstall.exe
bdeverify.exe
bdeverify.dll

Use KAZAABEGONE from http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html
It's clear at the bottom. It is very thorough and removes all the
associated spyware as well. If you have any music you want saved, be sure
and move it out of the Kazaa Shared Music folder first. Also be sure you
have a copy of LSPFix on hand, just in case it breaks your winsock.

kazaa is evil!

my neice installed kazaa on one of my machines and i could
have killed her-everyone knows kazaa is full of trojans
and spyware. i had to reformat the machine because the
uninstaller for kazaa wouldnt let me uninstall it and i
could not remove most of the badstuff manually or with
another program and restoring to a previous backup didnt
work becuase there were multiple things and viruses hiding
behind the partition that kazaa either installed there or
had a hand in installing.

follow cheifs advice-if it doesnt work find the person who
installed kazaa(assuming its nto you) and repeatedly beat
them about the head and neck with a blunt object. this
should discourage them from doing such a thing again.

Windows AntiSpyware may prompt you to remove some peer-to-peer (P2P) file
sharing programs. If you choose to remove such a program, Microsoft Windows
AntiSpyware deletes the entire contents of the Program Files directory that
relates to the P2P program. Because some P2P programs store downloaded files
in a default directory under Program Files, this might remove all files
downloaded through the file-sharing program. For example, KaZaA stores .exe
and .dll files at C:\Program Files\Kazaa. Downloaded files are stored at
C:\Program Files\Kazaa\My Shared Folder. If you use Windows AntiSpyware to
remove KaZaA, all files and folders under C:\Program Files\Kazaa are
removed. If you have installed any P2P file sharing programs, we recommend
that you make a backup copy of your downloaded files before running Windows
AntiSpyware.
