Currently I'm using NAV 2004, but a few contact have told me that Kaspersky
Anti Virus is a better overall product.

Being a newbie in this field I wonder if there are any experts here who can
advise me if it's worth switching over to Kaspersky (or do you know an even
better product?)?

Thanks.

If you'd prefer 'free', I personally couldn't recommend better than Avast..
www.avast.com

Both of the AV's you asked about are leaders in detection, cleaning etc..and
get very high test scores world over. As is the case with either one would
give fine service to you. It is inevitable that there may be a malware that
NAV misses and Kaspersky doesn't and next time the roles are reversed. If
one stays with an ICSA Certified AV product it then becomes mostly a matter
of personal choice as to price, upgrades, updates,GUI, etc....

Personally I use NAV 2004 Pro and find it suits my needs and runs on our
home network with no trouble.

I used to use Nortons. Used to. Now I use Kaspersky. I was having
"weirdnesses" and thought something had infected my puter. I always updated
the sig files but it caught nothing. Then I did a little research and tried
Kaspersky and it found a couple of trojans and a virus on the puter. In my
opinion, Norton's is worthless. Oh yeah, a while back a friend and I both
received an .exe "joke" file and Norton's failed to catch it but my
friend's AV software (luckily) did. To me Nav came to a gunfight with Kav
but brought a knife and Kav pistol whipped 'im!Get Kaspersky, you won't
regret it.
