Kaspersky 5

attempts to update the virus definitions result in the message:
"...virus definition database is corrupted...
need to reinstall the virus data base..."

this occurs with both the automated update and the manual update
and for either the "weekly" or "daily" set

the cumulative set can be applied fine with no problem

a previous - older - set of cumulative / weekly / daily
can also be applied without problem

so, at the moment it looks like a problem in the update files

anyone else finding this ??????

Happened to me today -- first time. I had to uninstall, make certain
all Kav files were removed, delete all registry references, then
reinstall (personal 5.0.227). After the initial automatic update, all
worked well.

Reinstalling over original DB didn't help at all. A reinstall after
uninstall w/o registry cleaning didn't work either.

The antivirus database issued at 11pm Moscow time was corrupted and
caused KAV to malfunction. An updated released 2 hours later fixed the
problem and caused the program to resume normal operation. How
embarassing. I was doing a job at a clients house when this happend.
