Hi, I am just wondering does my license key for kav 4.5 pro work with kav 5
personal. It will not expire for a long time now, but I wish to upgrade to
the latest version of your av. Thanks.

Does anyone know the address of the official or semi-official kaspersky
forum.

No problem! I use my key for both V3 and V5.

I think the problem started when I downloaded the trial verison of KAV 5.0,
which evidently came with a trial key. Now I just can't get the idea out my
computer that I would like to use my KAV 4.5 key with a full version of KAV
5.0. Does anyone know how to fully clean KAV out of WIN ME. Thanks, take
care.

I do not thonk that you need to have a massive clearout. Do a
search for " *.key" on drive C: (No inverted commas of course).
This will bring up all the kaspersky keys (and perhaps other keys)
showing where they are. The locations differ for OS's and maybe
versions of Kaspersky.

When you have found the keys you can copy your currently registered
key to the same location. It will take precedence over out of date
registered keys and probably over the trial key if there is one.

If your current registered key does not "Click in" then alter the
file extensions of the other keys so that kaspersky will not "see"
them but so that you can get them back if you need to at any time.

Incidentally you can look at the keys with a text editor. As I
recall they do not come up as plain text but it is easy to read text
passages in them - don't edit them in any way!

You can see which key is functioning in V5 by going SUPPORT TAB,
LICENCE INFO, DETAILS.

With much earlier versions simply go HELP, ABOUT.

Have fun,

Peter
