Too bad it doesn't accept my still-valid key for version 5. I thought
they allowed that?
Larry,
They had better! I just renewed for 2 years three weeks ago. LOL.
Your license is for a subscription (time period), not any particular
product. You need a KPSS license, of course, to use all of the KIS
components (KAH, KAS, etc.). Your KAV 5 license will work for KAV 6/2006.
There is one major caveat, though. If you purchased your current
KAV/KPSS license from certain third parties, that license may not be
valid for KAV 6/2006. Read the EULA. A $15 USD key purchased as part
of a Registry Cleaner package may only work for KAV 5, which, of
course, will still be supported for some time to come. I heard some
grumbling in the KL fora (forums) about this ... many threads on
upgrading KAV.

BTW, before you uninstall KAV/KPSS 5, and install KAV/KIS 6/2006, make
sure that you have all of your KL keys backed up, even those that are
about to expire. When you upgrade, you want to add (not replace) the
keys. For example, a new key (purchased today, May 15, for 1 or 2
years) added to a key that is due to expire June 2, will extend the
license to June 1 (365 days, leap year), instead of May 14.
And of course, if you buy a KL license, buy it through Art's web site.
