Is there any way to check that the 8 USB ports are working at a USB 2
Level. Is there some software to check this. I am running XP home
edition.
 
First you either need the latest Windows XP with service pack 1 (SP1) built
in or upgrade your XP to SP1 from Microsoft to have USB 2.0.

If you do have SP1 installed then....

1. Right click My Computer
2. Click Properties.
3. Click Hardware
4. Click Device Manager
5. Double click Universal Serial Bus Contollers and if you see the word
"Enhanced" anywhere you should be running USB 2.0.

Sandra 2004 software will let you know if you are running 2.0 but sort of a
waste of money just to find that out.

Yes thank you mine show Standard enhanced pci to usb. They could have
jsut show it as USB2 then people like me would know.

The root hubs hanging off the EHCI controller should say USB 2.0.
