Well I've had it. This board has created some many headaches that I'm never
buying an Asus again! I wish they had a a money back garauntee instead of
RMA replacement. guess its my own fault for wanting to upgrade from my
Barton and A7NX deluxe...live and learn I guess. None of my USB devices work
on this board...and cant even get the printer port
working...................arrrrrhhhhhh piece of shit

Have you tried doing a fresh install of Windows XP?

I've got exactly the same board and it's been rock solid for me since I
installed it. I originally had an Abit KV8-MAX3 which consistently
rebooted 5 minutes from startup.

Personally I would always do a fresh install when configuring a new
Motherboard because you can never be sure that upgrading or doing a
repair install when switching chipsets will work.

Tried everything under the sun short of shooting it! Fresh install of Win2k
drivers ect ect ect....plug in any USB device and puter has ntskol error
before getting into the OS.....no problems if there's nothing connected to
the USB connectors.....unfortunately my scanner and printer and camera are
all USB.............

Might want to take a look around USB mans's site ...

Good luck,

Well I checked out that site and couldn't see any solution....its weird in
my BIOS when the USB devices are plugged in they aren't detected, when I try
to boot into windows I get stop errors but if I plug in the devices after
booting they work.......hmmm

I'm devices

Well I doubt that the board is as bad as you claim. I've upgraded from
an A7N8X-DLX to K8NE-DLX and both boards have work flawlessly from the
start. Now, I'm running XP Pro rather than 2K. It seems to me, and I'm
not a 2K expert, that you'll need to install a lot more driver software
for Win2K then for XP. If you can get the basic O/S installed, but
pieces of the hardware are not recognized, or cause it to crash, then
it is a driver problem and has nothing to do with the quality of the
board. You should be able to get a set of drivers from the nVidia
website for Win2K that deals with all of the peripheral devices.
