Hi,

I recently bought an asus k8n with an amd64 3000+ box but I couldn't
access to the bios. The pc show the splash screen then freeze. If i hit
the 'del 'key after just after the beep, i see the message telling me
that i want to enter the setup but it still freeze.
I test ram, graphic card and hard disk on another pc and all work well.

Did anyone already have this problem, and had a solution?

Thanks

1. Did you clear the RTC RAM in CMOS (> Manual p. 2-17)?
- Be careful to disconnect the 220V power _before_ clearing!!

2. Is the power supply unit sufficient and o.k.?

3. Are you sure that the K8N is o.k.? (Not a DOA?)

Yes even after clearing the CMOS, ths bios still freeze
I bought a 400W power suply with the board and i test it with an other
power supply.

I returned the card to the vendor who tell me that the bios is probabely
corrupt.

Thanks for your response.

....

Well, I had two P4P800_Deluxe dieing and an imperfect A7S333... Asus
_appear_ to no longer produce the quality of, say, their old P3B-F.
Or is it a general phenomenon with consumer mainboard producers?
