Confirm "OnChip AC97 Audio" is enabled in the BIOS [Integrated
Peripherals->VIA OnChip PCI Device] and that your speakers/headphones
are connected to the middle audio jack, then give the reference drivers
a shot - http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=2

Also, check to see if the front panel audio header is wired correctly,
if at all.

I just installed one driver working but not 100%. I can play sound, mp3,
but I can't play game at all. I've never seen this before. Any game I play it
gives this error message "DDHelp found error at winmm.dll."

I'm glad you finally got sound working. According to KB articles 286006
& 179295, your problem may be caused by old/incompatible video/audio
driver or a hosed DirectX install. (Maybe even both.)

It might not be a bad idea to remove all traces of previous audio
drivers and reinstall with the latest unified audio driver from VIA -
http://www2.viaarena.com/?PageID=328

Update your video card driver.

Apply VIA's Hyperion 4in1 driver - http://www2.viaarena.com/?PageID=300

Then reinstall DX9 - http://www.microsoft.com/directx

If that doesn't work, you might also want to take this to
alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.elitegroup

Best of luck.

Thanx anyway, I reinstall windows programs saparate HD. Yeah it works
perfect the driver from MB. So this means that the drivers are having
conflict with
the other periperheral drivers. I don't know which drivers are
conflict. My opinion is restarting windows program.

I have another question: does DX9 has any program? I heard DX8 or DX9
is having problem itself. I went through myself by erasing and
reinstalling old DX drivers back. I'm not sure DX9 has any advantage
than DX7.

Have the same MB and installed sound with no problems so far.
Haven't tried it in games yet.
My problem is getting this crappy onboard NIC to run...
