Hello everyone
I have a problem with my motherboard and procesor. I can't overclock
it.
When I switch on motherboard fsb from 200MHz to 266MHz system won't
start. Bios was reseted by removing battery and short jumper when I
changed fsb frequency.
Let me know if you know any solution of this.

As far as I know, a 2000+ is 133MHz clock, and 12.5x multiplier.
A choice of FSB266 via the jumpers should have worked. Maybe the
jumper information in the manual is wrong ?

If you look in the BIOS screen, when you are running at 100MHz
(FSB200), what value is shown for the Vcore voltage ? Is it
the correct value for your processor ? There are four
different 2000+ processors, with different Vcore requirements.

Reading the manual, it looks like there are two ways to change the
frequency. The jumpers set the startup frequency. You can use the
[Manual] setting, then use the BIOS to set a higher frequency.

Set the jumper to 100MHz for FSB200. Go into the BIOS,
then set the "CPU Host Frequency" to [Manual]. Then, you should
see a separate line item in the BIOS, for changing the CPU
frequency. Try only a small step in frequency first. Change
from 100MHz to 105MHz in the BIOS setting, which will cause the
FSB to go from FSB200 to FSB210. Save and exit. Then see if the
computer will still boot.

Not all choices of manual frequency are good ones. On old motherboards,
sometimes a manual choice causes the AGP or PCI to be too high
in frequency. PCI is normally 33MHz. PCI over 37.5MHz is not
recommended. AGP is normally 66MHz. AGP over 75MHz is not
recommended (some AGP cards can operate at 89MHz or even 100MHz,
and do that all day long, but modern AGP8X cards tend to like
75MHz or less).

It could be, that if the description in the manual for the
jumpers is wrong, that a startup frequency is being selected which
is too high.

I think this is your clock generator chip, and it does have
a serial interface. The serial interface is how the BIOS is
able to program the chip and set the frequency. The jumpers
FSB_SEL0, FSB_SEL1, and FSB_SEL2, set the startup frequency used
when the computer starts to POST, and then the BIOS can change
the frequency as set by the user in the BIOS setup screen.

Note that, it is also possible to overclock Athlon processors
via the multiplier. But not all processors are unlocked, so
changing the multiplier on some of them, won't do anything.
Check the motherboard, and see if someone has put jumper
plugs on the multiplier pins. The motherboard ships without
any jumper plugs on those pins, and none are needed for it
to work. If some jumper plugs were placed there, remove
them.
