After having problems with my PP created in XP not playing when
emailed it to someone. I have been working on trying to figure out ho
to make the presentation autorun on a CD. I first downloaded the tria
from 'SoniaColeman' (http://www.soniacoleman.com) I tried to run my CD
and it said that it could not find my PPT. After wasting 2 CD's I gav
up, and went to Echos site, and followed all the diractions to do i
manually, and that did not work either. At the point in that proces
where I was supposed to double-click to extract PNGSETUP I got a
error.

My complaint is that MS Office, or MS Powerpoint does not have it buil
in so that this could be done automatically. Why in the world can'
they make that a part of the pack and go that does not work very wel
anyway. I also think that the help sucks in Office XP. I like to loo
up things in an index rather than type in a question that I may or ma
not word right. Instead of progress when it comes to being use
friendly, I think XP is stepping backwards.

Just my humble opinion

Hi "msgelectric",

stop complaining! Microsoft did what you want in PowerPoint 2003. Have a
look at the "Package for CD" functionality in the new version. If I get you
right, it does exactly what you are looking for.

Kind regards,
Ute

Will it autorun with the package to CD in 2003. I guess I will have t
upgrade again. That is great news since I just upgraded from offic
2000 to office XP recently

What Ute said -- PPT 2003 has a Package for CD function.

If you can't Pack and Go, then don't. Just make sure that all your
linked files were in the same folder with your PPT presentation *before*
you inserted them into the presentation. Then grab those files and the
appropriate Viewer files, create your autorun file, and burn it all to
the CD.

As a follow-up, special characters like the trademark symbol are illegal in
filenames and will cause havoc. Rename your file and the Viewer will be
able to locate it.

Yes, it will.

But it seems Sonia zeroed in on the problem with your file, so you shouldn't
have to upgrade.
