“Vista is an upsell masquerading as an upgrade. It is an overall
regression when you look at the most important aspect of owning and
using a computer: your control over what it does. Obviously MS Windows
is already proprietary and very restrictive, and *well worth rejecting*.
But the new *'features' in Vista are a Trojan Horse* to smuggle in even
more restrictions. We'll be focusing attention on detailing how they
work, how to resist them, and why people should careâ€,

Dear x1a4,

Well, there's always MS-DOS.

DOS doesn't take up much space, is much simpler to use, command driven, and
is ideal for simple word processing. Oh, did I mention it's more secure? I
still have an 8086 Epson Equity II with MS-DOS 6.2 running on it. Sure, Word
6.0 for DOS is a little slower than Word 5.5, but it has a formatting ribbon
.... hey now, didn't Microsoft get the ribbon idea for Office 2007 off of the
'ol Word for DOS?

Hey, relax. There's no such thing as a perfect OS. And no one says you must
use Windows. :-)

peace,
rupertsland
