robert

i just reformatted my xp for the first time.. or what i
thought was reformatting... anyways, i try to play music
or games etc but i have no sound. the error i get is

cannot play back the audio stream: no audio hardware is
available, or the hardware is not responding.

i have restarted my computer multiple times and under
device manager, it says i have the right... "stuff", as i
do have programs there etc but still no sound. i am
wondering what i have to do to, obviously, get sound.
thanks for your help. my aim is jexdawg13, or you can
just reply back (pls don't email i never check it)

You need to install your sound card's drivers. Even
though Windows tells you its installed, its just using a
standard driver for your sound card.
You'll need the floppy or CD containing the Drivers for
your Sound Card or Download them from the manufacturer's
WebSite
