I have XP Pro, IE7, Word 2003, all updates are current. Use Windows
Explorer, AVG (newest edition), Spyware Blaster, and have Hijack This (with
a full scan 1 week ago). When I ran Ad-Aware today it came up with these
"infections (not serious)" but I don't understand the ref. to "registry" and
MS IE - I do not touch my registry:
a.. [1] MRU Path: C:\Documents and Settings\(computer name)\Recent Count:
61
b.. [2] MRU Registry Key:
S-1-5-21-507921405-1580818891-839522115-1003\Software\Microsoft\Search
Assistant\ACMru\5603 Count: 2
c.. [3] MRU Registry Key:
S-1-5-21-507921405-1580818891-839522115-1003\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\TypedURLs Count: 5
Should I be concerned?

No, you shouldn't be concerned. MRU means "Most Recently Used". Some people
who are very tense about leaving no tracks behind them prefer to not have
the system keep track of most recently used documents, searches, etc.
Normal people don't need to worry about it.

BTW, HijackThis is not a malware scanner per se. It should not be used
unless you really, really know what you're looking at. Since you didn't
know what MRU means and Windows Explorer is the graphical user interface
and not a program...
