A7n8x
amd XP 3000 333
PC3200 512K Kingston, dual channel

At first the motherboard detected the memory speed at 100mhz

I updated the bios and it detected it at 166mhz

Windows, the System window, says it's running at 2000mhrz.

Does this sound right? Why doesn't it run at 3000mhrz?

My old 1500 amd XP ran at about 1300 mhrz.

Thanks.

The 333 FSB Barton XP 3000+ runs at 2167MHz. (166 x 13.0)

Barton XP 2600+ 1917 (166x11.5)
Barton XP 2800+ 2083 (166x12.5)
Barton XP 3000+ 2167 (166x13.0)

Barton XP 3000+ 2100 (200x10.5)
Barton XP 3200+ 2200 (200x11.0)

Because it is 2.17GHz and not 3Gig thats why.
The 3000 does not mean it is 3000, it's PR(rating).
An XP2400 is not 2.4, an XP2800 is not 2.8 and so on.

I am building a box using the A7V600-X with an AMD 2500+.
The BIOS showed this running with CPU external frequency 133/33, giving
1467 Mhz. Should this have been 166? (And if so, why the discrepancy?)
