Carefull now just overclock don't overcook.

Hows that Ninja doing ? Is it keeping you cool man ? :D

Surely you dont need 1.3volts to hit 3.0ghz?

thanks it is stable so far for about 2 hours. I am RDPing into it at the moment.

The Ninja is doing fine thanks mate. The least expensive part of them all but so far very effective.
Temperature at the moment is 40-42C. I think I could get it up to 3.2ghz but at the moment might as well play it safe.

One thing I have done is increase the memory speed from 1066 and now it is at 1333mhz!!! I could get that to 1600mhz or 1800mhz but that would be taking the michael!

Do you think that is too high?

I didn't touch this. The only voltage I touched was the memory

check out my BIOS at present:

Loot? What's that mean you are 300 miles away from Cumbria!?

Well I think I gave you an extra quid or two.

Nice OC, 1.3 should be fine, i leave mine on Auto as well, when i crank it up to 3.4Ghz i'm at 1.33V.

Hmm not sure if you did . I'll check and get back to you. (rushes of to dig up buried treasure to check)

:D

Well it is a done and signed deal. I think I gave u a quid extra or so for your asking price but if you wanted more all you needed to do was ask fella.

Mine all run at 3.42GHz (380x9) with autovolts at 1.25v - it can happily go higher to around 3.6 with a small volt boost, but for crunching 24/7 I prefer to keep things nice and steady.

What are your temps at 100% usage over all 4 cores psd?

Hey, got it to 3.4Ghz by just upping the FSB, i think Ian has got his higher.

Nope not anymore, running at 3.0Ghz now on default voltage :thumb: Only dabbled with higher freqs as it was running a little too hot at 3.4 for me.

Around about 40-45 degrees on full load

But sadly I am getting blue screen of death.

Windows told me this just after I restarted:

I've just dropped my memory down from 1333 to 1066 in the bios

any more ideas?

You should be able to do 3GHz without any issues - so I would guess its the RAM OC thats doing it.

I run my 800 RAM at stock 1-1 with FSB.

Used to overclock PII's but pc's are that quicker these days, do they really need to be overclocked?
Or is it that you just want to get that extra % out of the cpu/s

thing is it isn't even overclocking the ram I am running it at the speed it says it runs on at the moment I am underclocking it at 1066.

do you know much about cpu voltage/ram voltage?

feckit- they do indeed the q6600 is very overclockable - most people buy this chip and get the same performance that other quad cores can give for less price.
