halted:

First, do you have Word installed?

If yes, do a system search for "csapi3ti.dll" and copy to Outlook express
folder.
You can also get it off your Office or Word cd if you don't find it on your
computer.

I'm using Word97, and can't find "csapi3ti.dll" ????
Is this a file name for a newer version of Word?
What is dictionalry name in Word97?
Possibly Microsoft built OE that shipps with XP so it will not work with
Word97 dictionary, to force users to purchase newer Word versions. Word97
works fine for me and I see no reason tho change..

My spelling works fine in Word and Excel, but OE does not spell check.

Joe:
Click on the first of the links I sent you and it will tell you all you need
to find it.

Thanks Bruce,
It worked!!!!!! I placed it in PROOF.
I was just curious if the csapi3t1.dll was the actual dictionary or just an
API that links it to the Dictionary in word????????

Don't know the answer to that question.

Joe, I apologize, that should have been CSAPI3T1.dll, note that's the number
one and not the letter "i."

That was sitting in a folder I have with responses to this question and I
had not deleted that and I guess with the lateness of the hour I didn't
notice the mistake. Thanks to you, it has now been deleted.

Again, I apologize for the error.

The actual dictionary is CUSTOM.dic and it is located under Documents and
Settings\Your User Name\Application Data\Microsoft\Proof.
