Just installed XP on my Laptop and now it won't shut down without holding the power button

Has anyone else had this problem? I was told that there was a patch to fix this Problem but have not been able to find it

Has anyone else had this problem? I was told that there was a patch to fix this Problem but have not been able to find it.

It is common with computers these days to have to hold the power button
down for 4 seconds to power down.

You can look through your BIOS settings to see if you can disable this
and have instant power off, but many do not allow this to be changed.
