Ive been looking into how much ram my pc can hanlde and its a lot more than
4gig but im using windows xp pro 32 bit that can only address 3 or so gig.
but I have a quad core so would it be able to handle more? Ide like to put
more than 2gig in it as it is now to about 4 gig but im reading on the web
that xp pro cant "see" it.

Can someone tell me how much xp pro can handle.

im using:

mobo - X48-DS5 F5
CPU - intel Q9550 quad core

Forgot to add

It is the OS that will dictate the available memory that can be had and not the
computer (motherboard and etc)

32 Bit limit is 4 Gig for XP 64 Bit is 128 Gig for XP

No matter what you have for the motherboard the Memory limit is set by the Operating
system and not your hardware setup.

Which is not the same as what the operating system will utilize. The OP's MB
will take up to 8GB, but would be wasting his money getting that much when
running a 32-bit OS :-)
