For £17. Not a bad deal.

I hope it comes tomorrow, but I would like to know if your think my system will be able to run it on decent graphics?

The recommended spec is roundabout what I have, but I would prefer to have it all shiny and stuff?

I've heard there is frame loss on 8800gts, which doesn't bode well considering the card is twice the speed of mine... :(

Aw don't worry PotGuy, no reason why it shouldn't run at good settings :thumb:

Might not be perfect; but i haven't read anything that suggests you won't be able to play at high settings with that set up of yours :D.

depends on what settings you try and run it at don't it

if you keep the res to 1024x768 and the AA and AF to 4x you should be ok

I suppose it does, but I'll just be kind of bummed if it runs crap. It looks amazing.

I guess the OC will make up for it not being a dual core processor though. I guess I'll soon find out :)

But you guys think it will run ok?

it'll prob run better on a single core than a dual, you have a fairly decent setup so it should play fine

Stalker's a beast of a game, it will prob run at medium settings at 1024x768 on your rig.

AA dont work in stalker, they use deferred shading. ;)

AF makes very little difference.

Patch the game before you play. (Save game issue)

didn't know that, haven't even looked to see what the specs are :o

It is a very...unoptimized...game engine :D

Cheers for the patch V_R. Wouldn't have enjoyed not being able to save...

Yes sadly it does seem to be quite badly coded, Even 8800GTX's dont give the performance you'd expect.....

If you do find your rig struggles you could turn off dynamic lighting, but i personally would rather turn down the eye candy and leave that on. ;)

Also, keep and eye out for the next patch. Its supposed to give a 15-20fps increase. That and 'true' dual core support was supposed to be in the 1.0003 patch but it never made it.
