Hello the Group and thanks for being there !
(This is re-type - original lost....)
Some 3 weeks ago tried to transfer from IE/OE to Wanadoo -
problems ever since. Have no more than 2 dozen messages
in this period, but friend said mail not deliverable as mailbox
is 'over quota.' Advised to delete enough of messages to allow
me to access the Mail Server. Advised to do following: - Click
on Folders link in the left hand side of the Inview Box...click on
the Empty link next to the Delered Mail folder, the page will
refresh and the items withing the folder.
Have tried repeatedly to delete contents of Junk Mail Folder -
pbm is that there is no 'Empty' link to click on for Junk, Draft
or Deleted Items. Still getting the 'Cannot move messages -
Mailbox full' item. I have tried Internet Options/Tools/Delete
Cookies and Temp Files, and made sure the setting was to
Zero for 'Days to keep History'.
This has not been a happy change-over - browser is difficult
to follow, and according to Zone Alarm, I have no Anti-Virus
on my computer. Cannot install Mozilla/Thunderbird or AVG7.

My system is as follows:-
Processor - Packard Bell NEC (18 months old) with
AMD Athlon (XP1700+)
Op. System - Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition - Svce Pack 2
Installations - Zone Alarm, Spybot S & D, SpywareBlaster,
Ad-aware, ....do weekly checks on Scan Disk, De-frag etc.,
XP Updates, Scheduled Tasks (keeps failing).
Cannot install AVG or avast! as anti-virus - go to last page then
say - installation incomplete/aborted....AVG did not un-install
version 6, but there is no redress via Control Box (Add /Delete).
Free capacity on C disk is 29.09GB

Would aprreciate any advice, please (and will forward more data
if necesaary. )

two things - firstly have you checked that you haven't got "keep a copy on
server" checked in your Mail account setup? The message "Mailbox full" that
your friend is getting indicates that your mailbox at WANADOO is full, NOT
the mail box on your computer.
Secondly, jumping in on this thread, what email client are you using?

Gordon,
Sir - thank you for replying.
This could be a two-pipe, two cuppa problem......
Checked for 'Keep a copy on server' checked in Mail account set-up in
Tools/Accounts. There were 8 entries here, headed by Active Directory
Properties which said YES on Server Port No. 3268, Server and Account
name both being NULL. The other 7 entries all showed Empty in the box.
However - returning to the Active Directory, the Server Port had changed
to 389 and unticked box read 'use simple research files.' ???

E-mail client - I was using Outlook Express with Internet Explorer, but
since transferring (trying to) to Mozilla, perhaps my answer should be
yahoo!mail. I am extremely confused----- yesterday,
reading through many pages on screen and theWindows XP Manual, I
discovered new entries in my address book and Message Rules pages -
names intermixed probably half a dozen times. Suspicion has fallen a
juvenile relative 'showing off' to his pal how much he knew about
computers and setting them up - they cannot remember what they did -
his dad says he will beat it out of him - but that does not help my
multi-personalities in my system. I may lock the machine now it is
too late - I am the only user, and the computer is in a room with many
other pieces of office equipment ...needless to say, they are now banned.
Depending on what was tampered with, I can see why there are pbms with
Zone Alarm, Anti-virus, signing in - ad nauseum - flipping kids !!
I am going to be busy for a while - timewise - no problem, I am disabled
with little else that I can do - but ooh - the brain waves needed.!!

I am appreciate of your help so far - it has made me look deeper into
this vast land of computing and computers.

Molly
