i have an acer TrevleMate 200T that was junked...
due to it being dropped.
i managed to get most of the problems sorted out
and it's now in at least usable condition...
however the battery is dead and the internal connections are damaged
in such a way as to prevent it from running off the external charger...
what i did was open the battery case...
disconnect the batteries and just run wires out which i have hooked
to a 12.8v regulated supply...
the machine has been running fine for several hours now...
but the battery gauge/alarm keeps counting down and is now at 22%...
though i've confirmed that the voltage is still 12.8 volts.
i'm assuming that it must be gauging the battery state of charge merely from
run time...
but i;ve seen no where in the software or in the bios to adjust the
parameters...
no big deal...but just curious...
i have a lot of experience with desktop machines...but only recently have
gotten into
repairing laptops
