Hello,

I am stuck. I am planning a disaster recovery strategy for
a company using ntbackup.
I backed up the system state of a production DC and burned
this on a cd.
Put the cd on a test server and used ntbackup. The test
machine uses different hardware than the production DC.
What happens is that when i want to restore the junction
points I cannot because it is greyed out. Without this my
restore will not work.
Does anyone have any suggestions? What on earth am i doing
wrong.
Please help,

Alexis Crawford

Under the NTBackup Advanced option make certain that you have selected
"Restore Junction Points, and restore file and folder data under junction
points to the original location"

Thanks for the reply!
Read the KB article and did it however i get a message on the trusted domain that the RPC server is unavailable. So i check in the services and the rpc service is started. Event viewer gives me a failure to logon because of bad password.
Also i can ping the others namespace without a problem.
Has anyone restored an exchange server in a different forest? If you did how on ewarth did you set up the trust?

Patiently awaiting your reply,

Alexis Crawford
