I have saved my WMM movie to My Computer as a DV-AVI file. I have been able
to copy the file to CD-R via "my computer" but I am unable to save the movie
in the wizard under redordable CD best fit, I get that message everyone here
writes about "MM can not save the movie...source files...blah, blah, blah".
Also, when I try playing it on the DVD player on my TV I get a no Audio
message and data error message I have Sonic record now but its the 6 version.
I'm not sure how to create a DVD to play on my Sony DVD player I have read
alot of PapaJohns advice, but I am still unable to save to CR-R via the WMM
Wizard. And I still can't get the move I saved on CD-R via "my computer" to
play on my DVD player. Any advice?

To play a movie on a DVD player...you
need software that can create a VCD...
(this assumes you do not have a DVD
burner...then you might create a DVD...
find DVD info below...)

First you would save your Movie Maker
project to a folder on your hard drive as
a movie...

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next / Next.
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

To save as an .avi movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /
Next /
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

Next...you need to import the completed
..wmv or .avi movie file into a software
program that will create a VCD. Most
DVD players will play a VCD...check
the manual for your DVD player for
compatibility. A VCD is a Video Disk
created on a CD instead of a DVD.

I've had success with a program called
'InterVideo WinDVD Creator'...there are
many others...'NeroVision Express'...is
another example. The main thing is the
program must be able to create a VCD
from a .wmv or .avi video file.

Thanks for your reply. I have saved the file to my computer as a DV-AVI file.
I can't get it to save as a wmv file because I get a error message about
source files missing which is weird because it saves as DV-AVI file. I have
CyberLink PowerDVD but I don't think it Burns only plays DVDs. The Sonic
recorn now is an older version and I read somewhere here it wouldnt work
anyway.
I just downloaded the free Total Video Converter from TinySoft web site.
Will this help?

You are correct...PowerDVD is for playing DVDs.

The following article may help with saving:

If you have a completed .avi file...you need
authoring software to burn the VCD or DVD.

Read the articles I posted for you to get some
ideas about which software you need.

The link for Wojo's site should be useful:
