Hi all

I have had this problem for best part of 10 years, no one has solved it yet.

I have a custom menu on my forms. When I open a report and the close it the
main form opens and then immediately repositions itself to remove the
standard menu that would normally appear on a form. (At least that's what I
think is causing the jumping screen) Does anyone know how to stop this?. I
have tried echo off etc. to no avail.

A lot depends on what you consider the standard menu.

Open the offending form in design view and establish what menus you
want to appear while in design view. Make a minor chane in the form and
save it.

Access remembers those and tries to restore many of them.

Are you turning any menus off in code somewhere? That can cause it
also.

The best sotion is to define a custom menu for your main appcaiton, and a
custom menu for the reprot...that way, you solve this probem

you also remove a lot of the ms-access clustter...

Try downloading and running the 3rd example at my following web site that
shows a hidden ms-access interface, and NO CODE is required to do
this....but just some settings in the start-up.

Check out:

http://www.members.shaw.ca/AlbertKallal/msaccess/DownLoad.htm

(grab the "hidden interface")

After you try the application, you can exit, and then re-load the
application, but hold down the shift key to by-pass the start-up options.

Note the report example...and how it has a custom menu bar....
